The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska has announced that WinnaVegas Casino in Sloan, Iowa is giving their entire building a new facade and will begin work in mid-July.

July 1, 2010: WinnaVegas Casino is moving forward with plans to make WinnaVegas more than a casino with entertainment and food. WinnaVegas is increasing the attractiveness of their destination with a new façade and porte-cochére.
Nearly a year of planning has brought about a design that the Winnebago Tribal Council and the WinnaVegas management team have agreed upon. The $3,000,000 project will give the Casino an appealing advantage that, to this point, the Casino has lacked.
“WinnaVegas is not only a Casino, but also an entertainment and dining destination,” says Casino General Manager Catherine Colsrud. “Therefore, we must provide an enjoyable experience not only in the Casino, but also as a visitor drives up and walks through the doors. The ‘wow’ factor must begin there.”
WinnaVegas currently sees approximately 1,000,000 visitors per year bringing in tourism dollars to the surrounding areas that Western Iowa may otherwise not see. This investment in the overall appeal of WinnaVegas and other tourism destinations in western Iowa are necessary to keep and grow tourism in western Iowa.
WinnaVegas currently employs over 350 people, of which 160 are Native Americans and the remaining employees are from the surrounding communities. On a yearly basis, WinnaVegas donates over a quarter of a million dollars to the Siouxland community.
The Winnebago Tribe believes in the local communities, the strength of the local people, and the fact that this area will recover economically. Therefore, this is not only an investment in WinnaVegas, but, also, an investment interest for the entire local area. The Tribe believes this project will benefit not only Winnebago Tribal Members, but, also, the associates of WinnaVegas Casino, their families, local communities and all of the general area.
